 Since
the industrial revolution the world in which we live has changed beyond
all recognition, the skills of yesteryear have long been forgotten
and in their place we have technology and machines.
This is not the case in Kutch where remoteness of the land has ensured
that the crafts have remained free from the influence of the industrial
age and an incredible array of crafts are still produced in the way
they have been for hundreds of years.
Lindsay Taylor Designs is committed to helping sustain these ancient
crafts. So many skills have been lost elsewhere in the world that
we feel it is important to help maintain traditional crafts wherever
we discover them.
At the beginning of 2001 Kutch suffered a massive earthquake and we
believe it is now more important than ever to contribute to the rebuilding
of the social and economic infrastructure by continued investment
in the people, and their skills.
